Watch Mina in Action

Experienced Leadership

  • ★ Elected to the SSFUSD Board in 2018; re-elected in 2022 — unopposed, a sign of broad community trust.
  • ★ Chosen by fellow trustees to serve as Board Vice President, then Board Clerk.
  • ★ SSFUSD’s representative to the San Mateo County Committee on School District Organization since 2021.
  • ★ Graduate of the CSBA Masters in Governance program — advanced school-board leadership training.

A Fiscal Watchdog

  • ★ Cast the lone “no” vote to stop board policy from being rushed through without full public review.
  • ★ Pressed for accountability on Measure J bond spending and citizen oversight before funds go out the door.
  • ★ Grills contractors line-by-line on HVAC, athletic field, and kitchen construction costs across SSFUSD campuses.
  • ★ Cast the lone dissenting vote against approving the district’s Governance Handbook without further scrutiny.

Student Safety, Done Right

  • ★ Championed equity in school safety — asking why some SSFUSD schools had police on campus and others didn’t.
  • ★ Fought to confirm every school site has Narcan on hand.
  • ★ Stood up for a middle ground: keeping students safe without frightening them at school.

Equity for Every Family

  • ★ Co-sponsored resolutions honoring Asian American & Pacific Islander Heritage Month, two years running.
  • ★ Backed recognition of Filipino American History Month.
  • ★ Raised the lack of Colma-area representation when new district boundary maps were drawn.
  • ★ Pushed to make Board meetings accessible to every resident, including those with hearing loss like her own.
“All respects to Board member Mina Richardson for standing true to herself in asking questions on behalf of constituents to whom she was elected to represent.”
